Natalie began working at Shake Smart as a team member in her freshman year of college. She was later promoted to shift lead and eventually advanced to the role of training shift lead by the end of her junior year.
In this position, Natalie mastered over 30 recipes, including shakes, acai bowls, and wraps, gaining substantial hands-on experience in food preparation and recipe execution. Her role also provided her with valuable skills in customer service management, where she learned to deliver excellent service and handle customer inquiries effectively. Additionally, she gained experience in food service operations, focusing on line efficiency, cleanliness standards, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. These skills equipped Natalie with a comprehensive understanding of food service dynamics and customer-focused operations.

In her senior year, Natalie served on the executive board as the Public Relations Manager, where she gained valuable experience in digital and visual communication. During this experience, Natalie contributed to multiple WIC newsletters, each featuring a new health and wellness topic every month. Through this role, she developed strong writing skills, learning to communicate information in a concise, clear, and easily digestible manner suitable for the WIC audience. Natalie also gained an understanding of the importance of teamwork and collaboration, working closely with other volunteers to create informative and engaging newsletters.
